About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Counsellor to join a school in the heart of Liverpool. In this vital role, you will work closely with students, staff, and families to provide emotional support, helping students overcome personal challenges and thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one counselling sessions to students facing emotional, social, or behavioural difficulties.
- Develop and implement pastoral support plans tailored to individual student needs.
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the wellbeing of students.
- Foster a positive and safe environment for students to express their concerns.
- Work collaboratively with the school's safeguarding team to address welfare issues.
- Promote mental health awareness and wellbeing strategies within the school community.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic individual.
- Qualified in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience working with young people, preferably within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with care and confidentiality.
