About the Role

We are seeking a talented Electronics Engineer to join our R&D team, where you will be responsible for designing and developing emergency communication products that keep millions of people safe every day.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with engineers based in Maidenhead and Barcelona to investigate new technologies and develop innovative products and services.

Our team is at the forefront of developing emergency communications systems and other safety-of-life products for the building services industry, with a focus on high-rise buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop products across the entire lifecycle of electronics, including hardware and firmware.
  • Write embedded firmware in C for various microcontrollers, including Raspberry Pi, STM32, and PIC.
  • Explore new hardware platforms and software for future applications.
  • Develop automated test scripts and interface with hardware using C# and Python.
  • Support the creation of a strong pipeline of ideas that solve real customer problems and pain points.
  • Work with the supply chain to ensure components and subcontract designs meet requirements.
  • Ensure products are designed for manufacture and collaborate with production teams to ensure a suitable production capability is in place.
  • Support investigation of non-conformances and other quality issues.
  • Manage and coordinate engineering change and maintain a detailed design record.
  • Participate in field evaluations and market research to ensure Avire maintains its position as a market leader.
Requirements
  • Hold a minimum 2:1 degree in Electronics Engineering or another degree with substantial electronics and firmware content.
