Job Description

Overview

Avire is seeking a talented Electronics Engineer to join our R&D team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing emergency communication products that keep millions of people safe every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop products across the entire lifecycle of electronics, including hardware and firmware.
  • Write embedded firmware in C for various microcontrollers, such as Raspberry Pi, STM32, and PIC.
  • Explore new hardware platforms and software, such as ESP32 and Rust, for future applications.
  • Develop automated test scripts and interface with hardware using C# and Python.
  • Support the creation of a strong pipeline of ideas that solve real customer problems and pain points.
  • Work with the supply chain to ensure components and subcontract designs meet requirements.
  • Ensure products are designed for manufacture and collaborate with production teams to ensure a suitable production capability is in place.
  • Support investigation of non-conformances and other quality issues.
  • Manage and coordinate engineering change and maintain a detailed design record.
  • Participate in field evaluations and market research to ensure Avire maintains its position as a market leader.

Requirements

  • Hold a minimum 2:1 degree in Electronics Engineering or another degree with substantial electronics and firmware content.

Flexible and Remote Working

The engineering team typically works in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but alternative working patterns may be possible.
