AWE is seeking a talented Electrical/Control & Instrumentation Engineer to provide expertise in Electrical and Control & Instrumentation Engineering for various AWE initiatives. This position presents a fantastic opportunity for professional growth and skill enhancement.

Compensation: £29,640 - £34,000 plus outstanding benefits

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your expertise in Electrical and C&I engineering services to deliver engineered solutions throughout the operational lifecycle. Develop modification packages, manage plant changes, and act as an informed client in acquiring or specifying engineering services or products to high standards.
  • Identify and escalate business risks or opportunities related to the condition of engineered systems and structures, prioritizing safety, regulatory compliance, quality, and reliability.
  • Take ownership of engineering challenges or opportunities. Plan, manage, and collaborate to provide effective, safe solutions that support program delivery and societal obligations.
  • Offer advice, guidance, progress reports, and supporting documentation to stakeholders, including Senior Leadership, Operations Management, Process Owners, Operators, Maintainers, and Occupants.
  • Comply with Company Management System requirements, relevant Technical Standards & Legislation, and business controls while maintaining professional, ethical, and courteous conduct.
  • Apply Maintenance & Reliability Principles as directed by planning and outputs from Failure Modes & Effects Analysis. Analyze relevant metrics and contribute to Key Performance Indicators and other reporting as necessary. Assist in Reliability Centred Maintenance planning and conduct Root Cause Analysis.

This role provides the chance to work for one of the region's largest employers, allowing you to enhance your expertise while making a significant contribution to our business operations. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

  • Building Services Engineering (including UPS, HV - LV, BMS, HVAC, water systems, etc.) and industrial processes, with an understanding of related electrical & control systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, supporting ACOP, best practices, and common industry standards.
  • Familiarity with higher hazard or regulated industries (such as nuclear, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, etc.).
  • Membership in an engineering institution and/or qualifications such as Eng Tech or Incorporated Engineer or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in installation or maintenance, although this role is more aligned with consultancy services rather than hands-on technical tasks.

Due to the sensitive nature of our work, candidates must be British Nationals and typically have resided in the UK for the past five years for Security Clearance (SC) roles and ten years for Developed Vetting (DV) roles.
