Control Systems Engineer - Facilities Management – Critical Infrastructure

We are excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer within a leading facilities management organization specializing in critical infrastructure. This position is ideal for candidates with a solid background in control systems, particularly in environments where reliability is paramount.

The successful applicant will possess extensive experience in BMS (Building Management Systems) and controls engineering. Daily responsibilities will encompass both Planned and Reactive Maintenance activities for all BMS systems, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, commissioning, and installation, along with software and graphical interface management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all critical systems, ensuring uninterrupted service to essential power systems.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms from BMS and EMS across various sites.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive mechanical and controls documentation, ensuring compliance with client standards.
  • Effectively escalate alarms according to established protocols, keeping relevant stakeholders informed.
  • Provide detailed updates on actions taken in response to BMS alarms.
  • Remotely manage system settings as required.
  • Generate weekly reports on battery monitoring and oversee real-time UPS discharge assessments during maintenance.
  • Assist in compiling monthly management reports for clients.
  • Monitor BMS, Mimic, and alarm systems for optimal performance.
  • Contribute to incident management improvements.
  • Review and coordinate switching schedules for maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks in line with system control requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Manager to ensure seamless operations with shift teams.
  • Ensure all BMS controls and equipment are maintained at peak operational efficiency, including sensor calibration.
Qualifications
  • Relevant technical certifications in electrical installation or engineering maintenance.
  • Extensive training or certification in BMS systems such as Trend, Honeywell, Siemens, or Schneider Electric.
  • Proficiency in BMS software platforms and control systems.
  • Experience in critical environments, particularly data centres.
  • Strong technical foundation in BMS and building services.
