About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Operative to join our team at HMP Holme House. As the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades and support operatives, we are looking for a reliable and experienced individual to support the maintenance team with various tasks, reactive maintenance, and damage repair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic joinery work, including repairs and maintenance of furniture and fixtures
  • Carry out basic plumbing tasks, such as unblocking toilets and repairing leaks
  • Conduct basic electrical work, including changing light bulbs and testing fire alarms
  • Assist with waste management and ground maintenance
  • Provide labouring support to the maintenance team
Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a full prison security clearance and enhanced DBS (if required)
  • Hold a valid passport or Full Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence at your current address
  • Provide proof of National Insurance and proof of address dated in the past 3 months
  • Be able to provide details of at least 2 satisfactory employment references
