About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Nurse Specialist to join our team at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality community respiratory services to patients in West Hertfordshire.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work autonomously to deliver specialist clinical care to patients with respiratory conditions such as COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis, OSA, and ILD.
  • Assess, develop, and implement specialist care programmes, including home oxygen therapy, home NIV and CPAP, pulmonary rehabilitation, psychological interventions, and medication reviews.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and audit initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • RN Level 1 registration with the NMC.
  • Post-registration respiratory qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Teaching/Mentorship qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Possession of a degree or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with respiratory patients and in a community setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform arterial/arterialised blood gas sampling.
  • Sound working knowledge of guidelines in the field of respiratory care.
  • Knowledge awareness of recent NHS policies/DoH agenda.
