Bute House Medical Centre is seeking a skilled Financial Operations Manager to join our dedicated and diverse team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare finance and an understanding of funding mechanisms relevant to Primary Care Networks (PCNs). This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial integrity and sustainability of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Financial Operations Manager will oversee the daily financial activities of the PCN, collaborating closely with the Business Manager and Clinical Director to ensure precise budgeting and financial reporting.
The main responsibilities include:
- Managing the financial accounts of the PCN and optimizing income streams.
- Preparing financial statements for external accountants and ensuring timely completion of quarterly and annual returns related to pensions, taxes, and other financial obligations.
- Facilitating effective budgeting processes and providing up-to-date financial information to support service planning and delivery.
- Ensuring transparency in all financial processes and maintaining open records for review.
- Maintaining accurate budgeting and accounting systems.
- Overseeing bank account management and reconciliation.
- Issuing invoices and ensuring prompt collection of payments.
- Processing payments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Managing and submitting claims for enhanced services and other contractual obligations.
- Monitoring cash flow effectively.
- Coordinating with the designated payroll provider to ensure efficient payroll processing and compliance with BACS regulations.
- Preparing submissions and payments for HMRC.
- Engaging with Primary Care Support England (PCSE) regarding pension inquiries.
- Overseeing the PCN's pension scheme and maintaining accurate records.
- Acting as the primary liaison for all finance-related inquiries from staff and external stakeholders.
Professional Development

- Participate in the appraisal process within the PCN.
- Engage in required training, including mandatory and statutory courses.
- Understand the roles and responsibilities within the primary healthcare team.
