Position Overview

Opportunities for Entry Level and Experienced Quantitative Analysts

Vertex Search is collaborating with a prestigious systematic trading organization seeking to onboard Quantitative Analysts across various experience tiers. This position will report directly to the Head of Research, and the successful applicant will join a dedicated team of approximately 10 analysts. The firm is in search of quantitative professionals to enhance their comprehension of market behaviors and to develop quantitative trading frameworks. Analysts will engage with extensive, intricate datasets and will have the autonomy to pursue their own concepts while collaborating with colleagues. New hires will benefit from close mentorship and training from top-tier Researchers as they refine their expertise, and the firm is also interested in seasoned Analysts to contribute to mentorship and assist with portfolio development and optimization.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A PhD in a quantitative discipline, preferably in mathematics, physics, economics, or a related field
  • A clear interest in global financial markets, demonstrated through internships or career paths
  • Preferably some experience in systematic or discretionary equity trading
  • Proficiency in a programming language of choice (Python is utilized for research purposes)
  • Capability to apply technical expertise to comprehend complex market dynamics and formulate reliable future forecasts
  • A passion for contributing to a growing team with a strong emphasis on collaboration throughout the entire trading process
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities

No prior finance experience is required; however, candidates with industry experience, particularly those with equity exposure and those who have mentored or led small teams, are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
