The HSE Recruitment Network is seeking a passionate and proactive Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for providing functional health and safety advice, guidance, and coaching to project teams.
Main Responsibilities:
- Advise, guide, and coach all personnel on the project with the implementation of the Health and Safety Management System (HSMS).
- Advise on project compliance with the HSMS and statutory provisions.
- Maintain the Health and Safety competence matrix.
- Deliver the H&S induction and other H&S briefings to the construction team.
- Monitor the onboarding process.
- Production, review, and implementation of the Construction Phase Plan (CPP).
- Review of Risk Assessment and Method Statement.
- Support the team in the accident/incident investigations procedure and timely communication of the findings.
- Monitoring of the project, trade contractors, designers, suppliers, and assisting the Procurement Team.
- Undertake assurance inspections on site.
- Liaison with trade contractors, designers, suppliers, client, enforcement agencies, and other relevant parties.
- Assist with the development, regular review, and update of the HSMS.
- Support the business to win work. When directed, complete Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and tender enquiries.
- Contribute to the development of an Injury-Free Environment.
Essential Experience, Training, and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Construction Project/Facilities Health and Safety.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Construction activities – minimum).
- NEBOSH General Certificate (Facilities activities – minimum).
- Experience of working on construction sites (earthwork, piling, foundation, civil work, viaduct, land contamination, asbestos removal, batching plant, lifting operations, and MEWPS).
Ideal Personality Traits:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with gravitas and ability to influence and lead.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety practices.
- Passionate about Health and Safety.
