Holt Executive is partnering with a leading design and manufacturing company to find an experienced Electronics Engineer to join their team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Engineer to design and develop electronics for instrumentation and acoustics applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in analogue and digital circuit design, mixed-signal design, and microcontroller-based circuit design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electronics for instrumentation and acoustics applications
  • Expertise in analogue and digital circuit design, preferably within an instrumentation development environment
  • Involvement in mixed-signal design, including pre-amplifiers, filters, power supplies, interfacing, and analogue-to-digital conversion for precision instrumentation applications
  • Essential experience or knowledge in microcontroller-based circuit design and embedded software
  • Desirable experience or knowledge in FPGA-based circuit design
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, contributing to all stages of the product development cycle, from requirement analysis to design, development, and production
  • Expected to produce design documentation and test specifications
  • IPC certification preferred (training available)
  • Proficiency in OrCAD design software or similar tools
Requirements

    • Power supply technology
    • Circuit analysis, modelling, and theory
    • Analog-Digital Conversion
    • Interfacing and IO (e.g. I2C and SPI bus)
    • CAD Schematic layout
    • CAD PCB design
    • Fault finding
    • Assembler and/or embedded 'C'
    • Use of PAL/FPGA technologies
    • Linux and other OS
  • Qualifications:
    • BSc/BEng or equivalent in Engineering or similar discipline (2:1 or higher)
Additional Requirements
  • Occasional need for working outside normal working hours
  • Occasional travel to customer sites
  • Occasional offshore support and overseas travel
  • Security clearance will be applied for on appointment – UK passport holders required, plus proof of residency in UK for last 5 years
