Social Worker

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities Team at Wigan Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of children and young people with disabilities, understanding their requirements, and providing specialist intervention to support their well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Assessing the needs of children and young people with disabilities, including those with severe and profound disabilities.
- Developing and implementing care plans to ensure children and young people receive the necessary support.
- Working collaboratively with health, education, and other colleagues to ensure a comprehensive approach to meeting the needs of children and young people.
- Visiting children and young people at home, school, and within the community to provide direct support and guidance.
- Providing training and support to families and carers to help them meet the needs of children and young people.
We are looking for an experienced Social Worker with a strong background in child protection and disability support. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and their families. You will also have a strong understanding of social work statutory requirements and legislation.
