Job Title: Support Worker for Children with Special Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at ILS Case Management. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to James, a 10-year-old boy with complex medical needs.

About James

James has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy, and is visually impaired. He requires all his care needs met and uses a PEG for his fluids, and a wheelchair for mobility. He is unable to regulate his temperature, which can cause him to have seizures.

Your Role

As James' Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting James with getting up and dressed in the mornings, ready for school
  • Assisting with changing and eating his dinner after school
  • Bathing or showering James and taking his medication
  • Supporting James during his hydrotherapy sessions on a 2:1 care basis
  • Assisting with chores around the family home
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of working with children with special needs and complex medical needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with patience, tact, understanding, warmth, and compassion
  • Valid DBS check and proof of eligibility to work in the UK
Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly rate, 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata, and a pension scheme. You will also receive regular clinical supervision and review meetings, as well as ongoing support from a dedicated Case Manager and HR department.
