JOB TITLE: Security Officer

LOCATION: Waverley Market Shopping Centre

PAY RATE: £12.70 per hour

SHIFT PATTERN: 5 days over 7, 40 hours per week

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

This position offers a permanent, full-time contract. An SIA front line license is essential, and a CCTV license is preferred or candidates should be willing to undertake the necessary training.

Candidate Requirements:


• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team while also demonstrating independence to achieve common objectives.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate precise report writing.


• Exceptional time management abilities.


• Presentable, well-groomed, and self-assured.


• Awareness of conflict management strategies.


• High level of customer service awareness.


• Proficient telephone communication skills.


• Familiarity with patrolling and monitoring from a loss prevention perspective.


• Valid SIA Door Supervisor/Security Guard license.


• Valid SIA CCTV license.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly tasks in accordance with SIA license training to ensure the safety and compliance of the center in all health and safety aspects.
  • Confidently adhere to health and safety and fire prevention protocols.
  • Actively participate in emergency situations, including fulfilling Fire Warden responsibilities.
  • Supervise external contractor activities to ensure safety compliance.
  • Consistently follow ABM Group and company policies and procedures.
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in work systems or equipment that may jeopardize service delivery or pose risks to health and safety or the environment.
  • Utilize all work equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) properly, in line with training received.
  • Communicate any issues or training needs to your Line Manager and/or through the divisional incident reporting system.
