Job Overview

CPU Design Engineers at ARM are responsible for innovation and development of modern microprocessors. As a Principal CPU Design Engineer, you will be a dedicated, versatile individual with strong technical leadership and in-depth understanding across multiple aspects of CPU design.

Responsibilities
  • Define and build hardware RTL designs for low-power and area efficiency
  • Write and review documentation
  • Provide planning, tracking, and reporting to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of CPU IP
Requirements
  • Hands-on proficiency with System Verilog, Verilog, or VHDL HDL for RTL design
  • Expertise in synthesizable design that achieves area, frequency, and power targets
  • Track record of writing specifications and documentation describing complex designs
  • Capacity to own all stages of a project, from start to completion
  • Proven technical and/or team leadership skills
  • Practical experience of working on microprocessor designs
Nice to Have
  • Working knowledge of SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA)
  • Mentoring team members
  • Knowledge of scripting (e.g., Python, Perl, or unix shell scripting)
  • Knowledge of assembly language (preferably ARM), C/C++, and/or hardware verification languages (e.g., SystemVerilog)
