Role Overview

The primary objective of this position is to enhance and assist the current specialized Cancer team in guiding patients from the point of referral, through diagnosis, into treatment, and beyond, by delivering a secure, cohesive, and patient-focused service. The aim is to optimize the health and quality of life for both patients and their caregivers while improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery.

Additional Information about the Role

The Gynaecological Oncology Patient Support Specialist will be integrated into the Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) team and will collaborate closely with Nurses to serve as a singular point of contact for patients within this specific cancer domain. This role will also coordinate with MDT Facilitators and Diagnostic Services to ensure smooth transitions and timely management of patients throughout the cancer care continuum.

This position entails direct patient interaction, acting as a key contact for both suspected and confirmed cancer patients and their caregivers throughout the entire cancer journey. Responsibilities also include contributing to the National Living with and Beyond Cancer initiative (LWBC).
