Culinary Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Culinary Specialist to join our enthusiastic and supportive kitchen team. This role combines the responsibilities of a Cook and Kitchen Assistant, ensuring that our residents receive nutritious and appetizing meals.

Location: Lake House, Adderbury, Oxfordshire

Hours: This position encompasses a total of 39 hours per week, divided into 28.5 hours as a Cook and 10.5 hours as a Kitchen Assistant.

Compensation:

  • Cook Pay Rate: £12.77 per hour (Weekends £13.77 per hour)
  • Kitchen Assistant Pay Rate: £12.13 per hour (Weekends £13.13 per hour)

Shift Patterns: Shifts may vary, including times such as 7:00am-2:00pm, 7:00am-5:30pm, and 7:00am-6:00pm, with a requirement to work alternate weekends.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Culinary Specialist, you will play a vital role in the daily dining experience of our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and cooking meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents.
  • Engaging with residents to understand their preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a professional kitchen environment, particularly in catering for specialized diets and serving large groups. A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is essential, and while pursuing a Level 2 Diploma in Food Production and Cooking is preferred, it is not mandatory.

You should possess excellent communication skills to effectively engage with our elderly residents and demonstrate a genuine passion for providing quality care.
