Job Title: Experienced Student Veterinary Nurse

We are seeking an experienced student veterinary nurse to join our team at Chapel House Veterinary Practice Chesterfield.

About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract working 40 hours a week. As a key member of our nursing team, you will work closely with our Clinical Nursing Manager to provide high standards of client and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to in-patients, including pre-op care, medication, monitoring, and recovery
  • Assist veterinary surgeons with procedures and provide support to junior nursing staff and animal care/kennel assistants
  • Participate in the training program of veterinary nurses and animal care/kennel assistants
  • Ensure accurate records are kept, including medical records, anaesthetic sheets, and hospitalisation forms
  • Participate in out-of-hours nursing rota and support with reception duties as needed
  • Clean and maintain the premises and patient areas, including clinical areas and equipment
  • Understand and implement health and safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in relevant CPD and training programs
Requirements
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
  • Confident in the use of IT packages, email, and online internet browsers
