We have a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant to join our team here at Carrick Vets

This is a full time position, working 38.50 hours per week, covering Monday-Friday between the hours of 08.00 - 19.30 with an equal share of Saturday shifts.

This position will involve working across our 3 sites in Chesterfield, Mansfield and Barlborough, so flexibility to travel is essential.

The Patient Care Assistant role is one of the foundations of an outstanding veterinary practice, as a PCA you would be involved in supporting our team of qualified RVNs and Vets to provide outstanding care to our patients, working alongside a lovely team of people. This role will involve animal handling, assisting vets and nurses in restraining animals for treatment, cleaning, walking and feeding patients, general cleaning and maintenance duties, answering phone calls, reception cover, greeting clients and providing the highest standards of animal and customer care.

**Main duties**:

- Nursing care to patients
- Assisting vets and nurses in restraining animals for treatment
- Cleaning, walking, and feeding of patients
- Preparation of emergency and operating facilities
- General cleaning and maintenance duties
- Running internal lab samples
- Covering the reception desk where needed
- Serve clients and take payments
- To provide a friendly, efficient and effective service to clients.

The salary for this position will be in line with National Minimum Wage +3% cost of living increase.
