About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse Specialist to join our team at Purovets in Chesterfield. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a work schedule of 40 hours per week, offering a competitive salary from £27,000 plus amazing benefits.

In this role, you will be a key member of the nursing team, working closely with the Clinical Nursing Manager to foster strong team ethics, while offering guidance and support to junior nursing staff and animal care/kennel assistants.

You will collaborate with all team members to ensure smooth operations across all clinical areas and kennels, adhering to practice and group policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out all general nursing duties and assist veterinary surgeons as required.
  • Administer treatments, such as injections, medications, fluid therapy, dressings, and euthanasia, as directed by the veterinary surgeon.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, anaesthetic sheets, and hospitalisation forms.
  • Provide comprehensive care to in-patients, including pre-op, monitoring, and post-op care.
