Job Description

Role Overview

Boyes Turner is seeking an ambitious and bright solicitor to join our highly-regarded Employment team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a Tier 1 Legal 500 ranked department, advising clients on a variety of complex employment matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in advising clients on employment law matters, including TUPE transfers, advocacy, and HR support for employers.
  • Contribute to a busy team handling employment tribunal claims, restructuring projects, and other complex employment matters.
  • Develop expertise across a wide range of employment issues, including employment law, HR support, and business development.
  • Support client seminars and business development efforts while offering commercially aware solutions to clients.

Requirements

  • Broad understanding of the legal principles involved and experience of assisting with employment law matters.
  • Excellent drafting skills, legal analysis, verbal & written communication skills, and employment law knowledge.
  • Ability and willingness to complete marketing and business development activities.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to apply the law with a degree of commerciality.
  • Experience in supporting with seminars and workshop programmes for employers is an advantage.

Work Type

  • HR Support for employer clients on a day-to-day basis.
  • Guiding clients through disciplinary and other internal proceedings.
  • TUPE issues in transactional work (including due diligence) and on outsourcing.
  • Employment termination, including compromise and other settlement agreements, as well as taxation implications and avoidance.
  • Advocacy before the employment tribunals and courts.
  • Litigation unfair and wrongful dismissal claims & sex, race and disability discrimination claims.
  • Training seminars and workshop programmes for employer clients.
