Job Title: Telecommunications System Engineer

At Omega, we are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications System Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and configuring MOD/Gov projects, ensuring that all technical documentation is provided, and verifying technical equipment according to project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and configure MOD/Gov projects, ensuring that all technical documentation is provided.
  • Verify technical equipment according to project specifications.
  • Visit customer sites in support of projects, as required.
  • Define IP structures for new projects and provide guidance to the team.
  • Define equipment lists and specifications for projects office.
  • Verify new software, ensuring that each build meets test criteria and efficiency.
  • Support customer meetings for future projects and enhancements, specifically those projects which require an understanding of the customer's needs.
  • Be a proactive member of the Duty MOD/Gov engineer Rota and support structure.
  • Provide supporting information for new technical proposals.
  • Provide training as required for new systems.
  • Liaise with MOD/Gov agencies as required for any trials.

Requirements:

  • Work independently with minimal guidance, ensuring all work is evaluated and completed within project timeframes.
  • Assist other team members when project priorities change.
  • Hold, or have the ability to achieve, DV Security Clearance.
  • Minimum degree level qualification in a relevant discipline or relevant experience at an equivalent level essential. Engineering degree preferred.
  • Broad ICT and Satellite communications experience highly desirable.
  • Cisco CCNA or equivalent minimum experience.
  • Experience with Juniper and Fortinet.
