The Market Access Lead (MAL) will serve as the expert in market access for the business unit, focusing on enhancing the access capabilities and expertise of the Territory Business Managers (TBM) as necessary. This role will support key initiatives within the primary care payer landscape, aimed at eliminating obstacles, fostering differentiation, and directly impacting prescribing decisions, as well as patient capacity and throughput.

The individual will oversee both ulcerative colitis and rheumatoid arthritis therapeutic areas. The position necessitates collaboration across a broader network of TBMs, requiring the successful candidate to prioritize effectively, influence without direct authority, and possess a robust commercial acumen.

The MAL will collaborate closely with the Regional Business Manager and the Marketing Engagement Manager, leveraging all available promotional channels (including digital, in-person, virtual engagement, congresses, and training) and working alongside medical teams to facilitate impactful interactions with various payer stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to secure unrestricted access to achieve sales and market share objectives while eliminating barriers to prescribing.

This role is expected to provide valuable environmental insights that will inform the strategic direction and focus of the organization, as well as aid in the creation of future promotional materials.

Required Candidate Experience:

  • Proven track record as a Key Account Manager within the UK Pharmaceutical sector
  • Knowledge of formulary processes and market access strategies
  • Familiarity with high-cost/specialist products
  • Experience engaging with diverse payer and clinical stakeholders
  • Understanding of Budget Impact Models
  • Extensive experience in project-based work, including pathway redesign and shared care protocols
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the NHS environment
