Personal Tax Assistant Opportunity

TPF Recruitment, a leading accountancy practice recruitment agency, is seeking a highly skilled Personal Tax Assistant to join a fast-growing firm of chartered accountants in Canterbury. This role will focus on personal tax matters, supporting the Tax Manager with compliance tax tasks and providing opportunities for advisory work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare tax computations for a portfolio of private clients, including individuals, sole traders, partnerships, and trusts.
  • Support the Tax Manager and Partners with advisory work across CGT, IHT, Trusts, Estates, and other areas.
  • Liaise with HMRC via email, letter, and telephone as required.
  • Communicate with clients as needed.
  • Prepare form P11Ds and ensure clients are advised of impending deadlines.
  • Assist junior members of staff as required.
Requirements:
  • AAT or ATT/ACA/ACCA part-qualified or qualified by experience with at least 1-3 years of experience in an accountancy practice environment or personal tax position.
  • Experience in preparing tax returns for Manager or Partner review and familiarity with relevant tax computation software.
