About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Supportive Education Professional to join our team at Connex - Derby. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in the planning, delivery, and assessment of lessons to ensure students with SEN receive the support they need.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills in students.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive education for all students.
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, adapting teaching methods to meet their unique needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
Requirements
  • Qualified Teaching Assistant or minimum of 12 weeks experience within a classroom environment.
  • DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN and ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
