In the sectors of bakery, biscuits, confectionery, snacks, and breakfast cereals, numerous prominent brands depend on the technology provided by Baker Perkins, now a part of the HILLENBRAND / COPERION Group, operating from multiple locations.

The organization excels in its process knowledge, engineering proficiency, and the capability to offer comprehensive support to clients globally. Baker Perkins manages the entire product lifecycle – from design and manufacturing to assembly, installation, commissioning, and ongoing support.

A variety of services have been developed to leverage cutting-edge technology, enhancing efficiency and reducing the total cost of ownership for both new and existing systems.

We are currently seeking to expand our Aftersales department in Peterborough:

Aftersales Support Engineer

Technical Service Engineer

Role Objective

As a member of a six-person team, you will be tasked with providing Technical Assistance to our international clientele, addressing immediate troubleshooting needs and overseeing intricate projects related to retrofitting, while coordinating with various internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical and/or mechanical support and expertise to our industrial clients as the primary contact for the complete range of Baker Perkins equipment (spanning bakery, biscuits, confectionery, snacks, and breakfast cereals)
  • Ensure client satisfaction by being resourceful: either self-diagnosing issues or arranging for our team to resolve technical problems on-site
  • Serve as the project manager for Aftermarket initiatives, ensuring timely and technically proficient delivery that meets or surpasses client expectations
  • Encourage new and repeat Aftermarket business for Baker Perkins through client visits, relationship cultivation, and providing detailed proposals in alignment with client needs
  • Act as the Aftermarket representative for key client accounts, fostering positive relationships and showcasing your commitment to exceptional Customer Service

Candidate Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical and electrical capabilities: hands-on experience preferred
  • Background in customer interaction, such as a commissioning Engineer/Technician or within a Service or Aftersales department
  • Preferably, familiarity with value-added and complex capital equipment: Food & Beverage, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceuticals, etc.
  • Effective problem-solving skills utilizing an analytical approach
  • Client-focused with outstanding communication abilities and a proven history of nurturing client relationships
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and perform under pressure
  • Proficient in PC applications (Word, Excel, MS Project)
