Role Responsibilities

As our organization expands, we are strategically looking to recruit a Lead Mechanical Engineering Specialist for our Turbine Island division. This position is essential for establishing, guiding, and overseeing engineering teams responsible for the Front End Engineering Delivery on our innovative Small Modular Reactor (SMR) initiatives.

  • Direct engineering operations for the Turbine Island division
  • Validate safety and operational requirements
  • Lead and present design packages
  • Supervise Model-Based System Engineering processes
  • Draft and approve technical specifications
  • Track and report on program advancements
  • Manage risks and opportunities
  • Cultivate and oversee team resources
  • Mentor and identify training requirements

Essential Qualifications and Skills

Mandatory Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in comparable positions, particularly from Front End Engineering Design (FEED) to detailed design
  • Proven track record in leading cross-disciplinary design teams
  • Familiarity with power station systems
  • Capability to establish budgets and work plans for comprehensive design project lifecycles
  • Established expertise in Front End Engineering solutions for New Build conventional Island
  • Strong understanding of applicable regulations (ONR, Environment Agency, HSE)
  • Experience in requirements gathering, elicitation, and management
  • Proficiency in Model-Based System Engineering
  • Experience in managing sub-contracts and subcontractors
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) in a relevant field
