We are seeking an experienced Distribution Operations Director to join our team at Rem Associates Ltd. as a key member of our operations department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution network, including planning, organizing, and controlling the movement of goods and materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective warehouse and distribution strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff, including staffing levels, training, and performance management.
  • Oversee the processing of orders, production of pick lists, and dispatch notes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Minimize delivery costs and optimize logistics operations.
  • Ensure all warehouse staff are fully inducted into their roles and receive regular training and support.
  • Act as the first point of contact for warehouse operatives, resolving issues promptly and referring to the Operations Manager as necessary.
  • Monitor and manage absence, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Support the Distribution Manager in other tasks as required, demonstrating a proactive and positive approach.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a warehouse distribution background, ideally with load planning experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather and analyze transport information efficiently.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with the transport crew and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ability to think ahead, identify improvements, and implement changes to optimize logistics operations.
  • Proactive and positive approach, with a willingness to support at management level as required.
