Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday

Position Overview

The Compensation and Benefits Supervisor is tasked with ensuring the precise execution of payroll for approximately 5000 employees, alongside managing both taxable and non-taxable benefits administration.

This role supervises a team of four direct reports, overseeing both the Payroll and Employee Benefits divisions. Collaboration with the HR Management Team is essential for project delivery and various ad-hoc responsibilities.

You will serve as a vital stakeholder within the organization, providing support to other key stakeholders throughout the group as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee four direct reports, with three additional reporting lines
  • Lead a total of ten team members across Payroll and Employee Benefits
  • Manage various ad-hoc projects as required
  • Ensure compliance with all HMRC reporting obligations
  • Oversee the accurate execution of the annual P11d process and quarterly P46 (car)
  • Deliver monthly payroll for approximately 5000 employees (end-to-end)
  • Assist in the preparation and posting of the Nominal Ledger payroll accounts
  • Ensure adherence to all legislation impacting payroll and benefits processing
  • Maintain up-to-date Payroll and Benefits processes and procedures
  • Continuously enhance professional and systems knowledge
  • Generate internal payroll reports, including KPIs
  • Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with HMRC and GDPR
  • Act as a point of contact for resolving escalated employee inquiries
  • Support AX system administration and issue resolution
  • Ensure compliance with Auto-Enrolment requirements
  • Guarantee accurate deductions and payments to third parties, including pensions

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in managing the end-to-end P11d process is preferred
  • Proficient in managing a large payroll of 2,000+ in a multi-site context
  • Strong people management capabilities
  • Familiarity with Midlands HR iTrent payroll system is advantageous
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • CIPP qualification or similar payroll certification is beneficial
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships remotely
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management, and administrative skills
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities
