About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Practitioner to join our team in the Operating Department. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care within the perioperative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient care needs and develop programmes of care to implement and evaluate these programmes.
  • Provide expert knowledge of all clinical specialties and act as a role model for junior staff.
  • Participate in audit and monitoring accurate documentation in accordance with Trust policy, NMC and HPC guidelines.
  • Ensure the safe administration of drugs in accordance with Trust Policy, and NMC and HPC guidelines.
  • Ensure that all procedures and techniques are carried out in accordance with local competencies and agreed policies and standards.
  • Act as patients advocate in all matters relating to his/her care, treatment and welfare.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe environment within the operating suite and equipment.

Person Specification
  • Existing experience as a scrub practitioner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner with scrub experience.
  • Registered with NMC or HCPC.
