Job Title: Special Education Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Special Education Teaching Assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a Special Education Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with severe or profound learning difficulties and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to children with severe or profound learning difficulties and complex needs
  • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment
  • Assist in implementing individualized education plans
  • Supervise and facilitate educational activities for individual and small groups of pupils
  • Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and promoting their progress and achievement
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with pupils in a care or education setting, particularly those with SEN
  • Nurturing and empathetic nature
  • Adaptable and collaborative team player
  • Proactive in assisting with classroom organization and resource preparation
  • Comfortable covering classes or groups in the absence of the Teacher or lead
