Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons to meet the needs of students with complex needs.
  • Provide individual and small group support to students, promoting positive learning behaviors and encouraging academic progress.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor and assess student progress, and support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Support the development of students' skills and abilities, and provide feedback to teachers on student progress.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, with a commitment to supporting students with complex needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning, with a desire to stay up-to-date with best practices in supporting students with complex needs.
