AWC STAFF SERVICES LTD is seeking a skilled Site Manager with a solid background in the construction and electrical sectors.


This role involves overseeing a Substation Build Team responsible for the refurbishment and construction of new switch houses and transformer enclosures, along with the associated switchgear, transformers, and cabling.

In this dynamic position, you will manage and supervise construction operations from initiation to completion, serving as the primary point of contact for the client.


Your responsibilities will include delivering substation construction and refurbishment projects throughout the East of England, encompassing design, project oversight, cable installation, building construction, jointing, switchgear, bunding, commissioning, decommissioning, and demolition.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Daily management of site personnel, subcontractors, and site activities.

2. Development and execution of safety documentation, including Health and Safety Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.

3. Identification of training needs for site staff.

4. Client engagement, including audits and progress meetings.

5. Material procurement utilizing computer-based systems.

6. Informing the line manager of potential variations and maintaining appropriate records.

7. Compilation of documentation and As-Built records for handover files.

Qualifications & Skills:
• HNC/Degree Level qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering, Electrical discipline, or equivalent.

• CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme certification.

• Temporary Works Supervisor qualification.

• Experience in the construction and electrical sectors.

• Ability to work in substations up to 132kV.

• Familiarity with NEC contracts.

• Understanding of current Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.

• Experience in cost/value reporting.

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Valid full driving license.
