Everest People Solutions is seeking a Production Planning Lead for a manufacturing organization. This role is pivotal in formulating production strategies based on demand projections, resource capabilities, and stock levels to enhance efficiency and fulfill client requirements. You will oversee inventory management to maintain sufficient stock while reducing surplus and collaborate closely with vendors to ensure prompt delivery of essential materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and overseeing the production timetable.
  • Modifying plans as necessary to accommodate fluctuating demands.
  • Leading and mentoring production personnel, including conducting training and performance assessments.
  • Analyzing production metrics to uncover trends and areas for enhancement.
  • Working in conjunction with procurement and other divisions to synchronize production strategies with organizational goals and preparing KPI reports on production efficiency and process improvements for management review.
  • Formulating and revising production schedules based on client orders and demand forecasts.
  • Coordinating with suppliers to guarantee the availability of necessary materials and equipment.
  • Conducting regular evaluations of production work-in-progress and inventory management.
  • Directing and managing project teams focused on supply chain optimization and enhancements.
  • Establishing key performance indicators for both demand planning and S&OP effectiveness.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the entire supply chain, including forecasting, inventory oversight, promotional planning, departmental management, master data governance, item lifecycle management, seasonal planning, distribution center operations, store ordering, and supplier coordination.
  • Utilizing and managing Demand Planning Excel models as the primary forecasting tool.
  • Creating various metrics to assess forecasting precision, adhering to industry standards, and communicating necessary corrective actions to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Engaging with sales, marketing, and customer service teams to comprehend demand forecast drivers.
  • Training all members of the planning team on various systems.
  • Designing effective training programs for all planning processes and managing inventory levels for all components and finished goods while ensuring compliance with business standards.
  • Communicating and reporting on the progress, status, and challenges of the plans to stakeholders while identifying and managing risks, changes, and dependencies that may impact the plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with MRP Systems / SAP – 5 to 10 years of practical knowledge of MRP systems and principles.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a focus on continuous improvement and systems knowledge in MRP planning and execution or Supply Network Planning.
  • Experience in training methodologies and systems, fostering cultural transformation, and team development is preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
  • Inventory Management: Balancing stock levels to meet production needs while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs is critical. By evaluating sales forecasts, production capabilities, and lead times, Production Planning Leads ensure materials are available when required without overcommitting to unused stock.
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles: Optimizing production processes to eliminate waste and enhance customer value allows Production Planning Leads to improve workflows and resource utilization. Implementing these principles contributes to efficient and cost-effective production schedules, enhancing overall operational performance.
