About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Transformation Leader to join our team at the Welsh Ambulance NHS Trust. As Assistant Director of Digital Innovation, you will play a pivotal role in driving cutting-edge digital strategies that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead large-scale digital transformation initiatives within complex healthcare environments.
  • Develop and execute digital transformation strategies that align with organisational goals and drive innovation.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate digital innovation risk assessment and governance arrangements are in place.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, including clinical staff, executive leaders, and technology vendors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Digital Innovation, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, ITIL, or certifications in digital transformation and innovation.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of infrastructure architecture and software system design.
  • Strong understanding of digital innovation and transformation principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proven track record in a senior leadership role, managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering strategic initiatives.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Member of Chartered Professional body, MBCS or similar.
  • Recognised industry security qualification, CISM, CISSP or similar.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and practices, particularly as they relate to digital innovation and transformation initiatives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection regulations, including GDPR and other relevant legislation.
