The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Product Development and Production Manager to join our team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the product development and production process, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and are delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the product development and production team, overseeing all aspects of operations, including raw material sourcing, product development, production, and on-time deliveries.
  • Supervise the product development, sourcing, and production process from concept to delivery across multiple overseas suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with our design team to ensure that the design vision is well executed and meets the required standards.
  • Regularly liaise with our merchandising, ecommerce, wholesale, and marketing teams to update status and meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to and lead on our sourcing and supplier strategy.
  • Proactively address product development and production issues and support the team to resolve them.
  • Understand supplier capabilities, material, and production challenges, and support in finding solutions.
  • Oversee the end-to-end production process, ensuring adherence to critical path, while delivering exceptional quality.
  • Monitor our department KPIs against the plan, ensuring we achieve our goals.
  • Continually source new suppliers for improved innovation, quality, price, and delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers globally.
  • Strive to extend product life, supporting the brand to become market leaders in product longevity.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and sustainable practices, integrating them into our sourcing and production strategies to drive innovation and social responsibility.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled individual with a strong background in product development and production, ideally within the luxury leather goods sector. You should be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience (10 years+) in a similar role, with experience of managing small teams.
  • Experience in product development and production, ideally within the luxury leather goods sector.
  • Ability to adapt well to change and work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong communication skills, be highly motivated, and driven for success.
  • Highly organized and able to juggle competing priorities, with fantastic attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
