Position Overview:

As an Electronics Component Specialist, you will play a crucial role within our Supply Chain Engineering team, focusing on enhancing our currency acceptor products. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading projects aimed at addressing obsolescence, enhancing productivity, and improving product quality.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to establish project requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Engaging in hands-on prototyping and circuit analysis within an electronics lab setting.
  • Creating schematics and conducting detailed circuit analyses to ensure compliance with performance specifications.
  • Innovating through value engineering by redesigning products and components.
  • Documenting qualification test results meticulously in comprehensive technical reports.
  • Managing project timelines for PCBA redesigns, supplier transitions, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Participating in design reviews and collaborative brainstorming sessions.
  • Traveling to various sites as necessary to support project objectives.
  • Assisting manufacturing teams with root cause analysis and quality enhancement projects.
  • Leading diverse teams while also demonstrating the ability to work independently.
  • Taking charge of your professional development and staying updated with technological advancements.
  • Supporting the global Supply Chain Engineering initiatives at CPI.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in designing and developing both digital and analog electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with bipolar transistors and MOSFETs in oscillator and closed-loop control systems.
  • Ability to specify operational amplifiers and comparators effectively without unnecessary cost implications.
  • Experience with power switching circuits and the specification of power switches and flywheel diodes.
  • Knowledge of resonant circuits utilizing operational amplifiers and comparator building blocks.
  • Background in motor drive systems, particularly with brushless DC motors and drivers.
  • Awareness of optical and electromagnetic sensors and their functionalities.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture tools such as Cadstar or Mentor Graphics.
  • Strong communication skills to engage in technical discussions with engineers and management.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines consistently.
  • A relevant engineering qualification is required.
  • Extensive experience in electronics design is essential.
