Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough research and assessments to inform project decisions.
  2. Research and analyze materials, equipment, and labor costs to ensure accurate estimates.
  3. Collate quotes for materials and from subcontractors to ensure comprehensive project planning.
  4. Develop and manage project timelines to meet client requirements.
  5. Liaise with colleagues and internal departments to clarify project information and ensure seamless communication.
  6. Identify and mitigate risks associated with each project.
  7. Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders throughout the tender and pre-award periods.
  8. Prepare and submit high-quality quotations for work.
  9. Travel and overnight stays may be required due to the nature of the projects.

Requirements:

  1. HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Previous experience in tender-based estimating is preferred.
  3. Strong technical drawing interpretation skills.
  4. Experience in UK Rail Infrastructure is desirable.
  5. Strong budgeting and numeric skills.
  6. Current and up-to-date Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification is preferred, but the company can provide training.
  7. Familiarity with railway standards is desirable.
  8. Ability to travel throughout the UK.
  9. Proficiency in IT systems.
  10. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  11. Full, clean UK driving license.
