Job Title: 3D AutoCAD Design Manager

As a key member of our senior project team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design function and team on live schemes. This role involves working with our Work Winning Department to secure future work and collaborating with appointed design partners to deliver innovative and cost-effective design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the design of projects from tender stage to completion of construction stage design information.
  • Apply value engineering principles to ensure best value for all parties and ensure effective construction phase management.
  • Support and encourage the development of innovative design solutions to clients' briefs.
  • Develop relationships with appointed design partners and review their competences.
  • Chair and minute design team meetings and design workshops to arrive at cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage the design relationship for the whole project team, including the client, subcontractors, and professional team.
  • Understand the process and risks/opportunities related to managing the design with regard to Employer's Requirements and Contractors' Proposals.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of undertaking design management activities at both tender and construction stages.
  • Experience working on contracts across the non-infra water sector.
  • Ability to communicate with a range of people at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Adaptable and flexible with the ability to plan, report, organize, and project manage.
  • Experience of P6, Microsoft Project or similar (desirable).
  • Knowledge and experience of various design standards.
