Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director of Financial Operations to join our team at abrdn Asia Limited. The successful candidate will play a critical role in leading the Finance Operations Centre of Excellence, driving solutions for cross-functional ad-hoc issues and projects, and supporting the development and implementation of the Finance Operations Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of the Finance Operations Strategy: Work closely with the Finance Operations Director to develop and implement the Finance Operations Strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business objectives.
- Drive solutions for cross-functional ad-hoc issues and projects: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and drive solutions for ad-hoc issues and projects, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Support Finance Operations Leads and the wider finance function: Provide support to Finance Operations Leads and the wider finance function in understanding and measuring operational performance, driving a step-change in our outsourced service delivery.
- Attend senior management forums as required: Attend senior management forums as required, and deputise for the Finance Operations Director where appropriate.
- Lead the identification, design, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives: Lead the identification, design, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across all Finance Operations processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and reduce operational risks.
- Drive the implementation of process automation: Drive the implementation of process automation and leverage technology to achieve operational excellence.
- Work closely with the Finance Operations leads: Work closely with the Finance Operations leads to drive improvements in the FinOps control environment, with a focus on defining and embedding relevant oversight controls related to outsourced activities.
- Support the remediation of audit findings: Support the remediation of audit findings and respond to emerging risks.
- Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams: Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to ensure that controls align with the broader risk management framework.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Master's degree or relevant professional qualification: A Master's degree or relevant professional qualification (e.g. ICAS, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.
- Extensive experience in Finance Operations: Extensive experience in Finance Operations, with a focus on continuous improvement, project management, and control implementation is required.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects: Proven experience in managing complex projects and leading process improvement initiatives is required.
- Strong understanding of financial processes: A strong understanding of financial processes such as Source to Pay, Order to Cash, Record to Report, and Banking Operations is required.
- Excellent project management skills: Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is required.
