About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Respiratory and Sleep Physiologist to join our team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Physiology team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of respiratory and sleep services across our Eastern sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the delivery of respiratory and sleep services, ensuring high-quality patient care and excellent clinical outcomes.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and guidelines within the department, in line with current research and national/local guidelines.
- Provide highly specialist advice, teaching, and training to Physiologists and other healthcare professionals within the multidisciplinary team.
- Take a lead role in department research and audit, and support trainees undertaking Healthcare Science apprenticeship programmes.
- Work autonomously within the Respiratory and Sleep Physiology services, undertaking and reporting on a range of routine, specialized, and advanced tests and procedures.
Requirements
- Significant experience in respiratory and sleep physiology, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality patient care and excellent clinical outcomes.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team of Physiologists.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures and guidelines within the department.
- Highly specialist knowledge and skills in respiratory and sleep physiology, with the ability to provide expert advice and training to others.
