Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Job Summary:
Foresight Search Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their regional commercial team. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day commercial aspects of construction projects up to GBP5m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure optimum commercial return is achieved for the project.
- Prepare accurate cost/value reconciliation reports.
- Agree interim valuations at the agreed dates to gain the best commercial advantage for the company.
- Prepare and agree final accounts with client representatives.
- Agree final accounts with subcontractors to maximise project margins.
- Maintain control of subcontractors' accounts and minimise the cost of any variations.
- Manage subcontracts in terms of valuation and correspondence.
- Carry out duties as a quantity surveyor on projects as instructed.
- Ensure optimum commercial return is achieved for the project in their control.
- Prepare or assist with cost/value reconciliation reports on a monthly basis, accurately reporting the forecast final financial position of the project.
- Prepare turnover cash flow forecasts as directed by line manager at the commencement of all projects, updating as required and recording actual valuation achieved against forecast.
Requirements:
- Solid experience with either a national or regional main contractor.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a QS or Estimator on projects.
- Quantity Surveying or Building/Construction-related qualification would be advantageous.
- Good understanding and knowledge of the construction industry, including the ability to read architectural drawings and understand the construction process.
- The ability to prepare contractors' quantities from specifications and drawings.
- Cost Control, Cost Management, and Cost Reporting skills.
