Job Title: Apprentice Field Service Engineer

At Alexander Dennis, we're leading the transition to zero-emission mobility, and we're seeking a skilled Apprentice Field Service Engineer to join our team in the North West of England.

About the Role:

We're looking for an individual with experience in the maintenance and repair of buses or heavy goods vehicles, including body, electrical, and mechanical work. As an Apprentice Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for keeping our cutting-edge buses on the road, diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues, and performing both reactive and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buses and heavy goods vehicles, including body, electrical, and mechanical work.
  2. Diagnose and repair vehicle issues, using electrical diagnostic skills and knowledge of Multiplex systems.
  3. Complete paperwork, including service worksheets, timesheets, and warranty claims, ensuring that jobs can be closed and invoiced in a timely manner.
  4. Ensure that your van is fully equipped with tools and parts on a daily basis.
  5. Work a 40-hour week, with hours of operation typically between 05:00-20:00.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in the maintenance and repair of buses or heavy goods vehicles, including body, electrical, and mechanical work.
  2. Electrical diagnostic skills, ideally using Multiplex systems.
  3. Time served PCV/LGV Technician with a recognised qualification, such as City and Guilds, BTEC, or similar.
  4. Dependable, punctual, and reliable with a customer-focused mindset, focusing on quality and accuracy.
  5. Excellent self-organising and planning skills, with a professional manner at all times.
  6. A degree of flexibility is required, with additional hours worked paid at enhanced rates.
  7. Computer literate and able to use Microsoft packages.
  8. A Full UK Driving License.
