Graduate Teaching Support Specialist

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduates who are eager to assist students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges in a specialized educational environment. Candidates should possess experience in supporting children or young individuals facing SEMH difficulties.

Position Overview:

Location: Trafford
Type of Role: Graduate Teaching Assistant
Nature of Work: General Teaching Assistant duties with small groups of children with SEMH needs
Contract Type: Temporary, Full-time
Minimum Compensation: GBP 100 per day
Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing tailored support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Experience in assisting pupils with SEMH or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) requirements
  • Creating an inclusive environment that fosters student potential
  • Building strong relationships with students to support their social and behavioral development
  • Acting as a mentor to guide students in their learning journey

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology (BA Hons)
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (clean and relevant)
  • Safeguarding certification, including prevent awareness and FGM training
  • Behavior management training (desirable)
  • A positive and committed approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish new relationships

Desirable Attributes:

  • Prior experience working with young individuals
  • Sound understanding of SEMH and/or ASD needs
