Role Overview
As a key member of our Behavioral Team, you will play an essential role within the educational framework of a secure unit. Your responsibilities will extend beyond that of a behavior professional; you will also serve as a mentor and guide. The position includes a variety of tasks, such as:
- Developing, implementing, evaluating, and documenting learner-centered care plans.
- Collaborating as a Behavioral Support Specialist within a multidisciplinary team, including communication with relevant professionals and agencies.
- Facilitating daily activities to enhance learning experiences.
- Ensuring effective communication across all levels.
- Implementing safeguarding measures effectively.
- Maintaining a conducive learning environment.
- Assisting in the development and/or revision of local policies and procedures as needed.
In your role as a Behavioral Support Specialist, you will have the opportunity to build a robust and rewarding career that enhances your existing skills while fostering the growth of new competencies. You are expected to demonstrate enthusiasm, professionalism, and a commitment to being a role model for learners, all while receiving support from our experienced management team.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience working with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD)
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade A* - C
- Enhanced DBS check for Child Workforce - assistance available
- Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration - assistance available
