About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as an Advanced Biomedical Support Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, assisting Biomedical Scientists in the investigation of patient samples.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the processing of clinical specimens for bacteriological culture and molecular microbiology
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in bacteriology and molecular departments
- Check sample integrity prior to analysis and receive specimens
- Book specimens onto the laboratory computer system and answer telephone queries
- Undertake other tasks as required, including laboratory housekeeping duties
Working Pattern
Hours per week. Current laboratory opening hours are 08:00 to 18:00. Core hours are from 09:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday, occasional early shift 08:00 to 16:30, occasional late shift 09:30 to 18:00. Working on Saturdays 08:00 to 16:30, Sundays 08:00 to 13:00 and Bank Holidays (hours depend on which BH), on a rotational basis.
