Job Title: Teacher of French and Spanish

GSL Education is seeking a qualified and experienced Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join a client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire.

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate MFL Teacher to teach French and Spanish to highly motivated Key Stage 3 and GCSE students. The successful candidate will join an established department within the school and be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach French and Spanish to students of varying abilities and ages.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Encourage students to interact and work collaboratively with their peers.
  • Prepare students for GCSE exams, including revision and catch-up lessons.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievements, attendance, and behavior.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.
Requirements:
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Be able to deliver French and Spanish to GCSE level.
  • Previous experience teaching in the last 2 years with references available upon request.
  • Proven track record of successful strategies for raising achievement and sharing good practice.
  • Ability to teach outstanding lessons across the age range and abilities.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
