Ophthalmology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Specialty Doctor in Ophthalmology to join our dynamic team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility, providing high-quality care to patients with a range of ophthalmic conditions.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing general ophthalmology and specialist activity within Medical Retina or Glaucoma. This will include supporting the team in developing improved pathways in line with national eye care recovery and transformation programme. The post-holder will also be involved in teaching and training of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs).
About the RoleThis is a full-time position, working 10 programmed activities (PAs) per week, with a nominal timetable value of 4 hours per PA. The appointee will be required to work with their colleagues in providing a high-quality service in Ophthalmology, meeting the government set waiting list targets and the Trust's quality standards. Evening and weekend work is a part of this position due to the requirement to 1st on call cover of urgent care.
Requirements- Demonstrable experience in Ophthalmology
- Full GMC Registration
- 4 years experience in Ophthalmology
- Demonstrate evidence of a sound ophthalmic training equivalent to that recognised in the UK
- Equivalent of M/FRCOphth, M/FRCS, Overseas equivalent (desirable)
