About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to convert existing prospects into long-term customers, achieving revenue targets and expanding Fermtech's market presence across the UK, Ireland, and Europe.
  • Create and develop sales & marketing materials and collateral, including presentations, brochures, and product sheets, to effectively communicate the value of Fermtech's innovative ingredients.
  • Lead the development of pricing strategies that align with market conditions and company objectives, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability.
  • Manage the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for potential clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the food manufacturing, retail, and distribution sectors.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities, particularly within the protein and flavour ingredients sectors.
  • Represent Fermtech at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote our products and establish the brand in the market.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to ensure that sales efforts are aligned with product capabilities and customer needs.
  • Provide regular reports on commercial performance, including pipeline management, forecasting, and achievement of sales targets.
  • Develop commercial and financial models for the sales and future sales of the business, including potential models used for investment purposes.
  • Management of the company's marketing channels.
  • Outreach to partners such as potential suppliers and investors, as well as customers.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a sales or commercial role, with a successful track record of developing and executing sales strategies.
  • Experience in the food technology, protein, or flavour ingredients sectors is highly beneficial.
  • Strong ability to create and develop sales & marketing materials and collateral from the ground up.
  • Experience in developing pricing strategies that align with market trends and business goals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Proven experience working with and developing relationships with customers.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently in a start-up environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time, primarily within the UK, Ireland, and Europe.
  • Good numeracy, ability with numbers, and ability to build financial models.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience and background in a science field would be a benefit.
