Technical Accountant

Oliver James Associates Ltd. is seeking a skilled Technical Accountant to join our team on a fixed-term contract basis.

This 12-month contract will be based in London and will involve working on a hybrid basis.

The Role
  1. Ensure the accuracy of insurance ledgers, including premium, claims, and cash balances, and reconcile these balances.
  2. Accurately book bordereaux for delegated business.
  3. Develop strong working relationships with underwriting, distribution, and claims teams to reduce errors and improve debt collection.
  4. Be a centre of excellence on the eNora system.
Key Accountabilities
  1. Effectively administer Xchanging error handling across premium and claims for all UK business.
  2. Quickly comprehend the financial aspects of slips for all classes of business.
  3. Review the EPI pipeline monthly to ensure it is appropriate to hold as a debtor.
  4. Allocate cash receipts in a timely manner.
  5. Understand the systems landscape, particularly the interface into SAP from eNora, and the impact of actions taken in eNora on financial results.
  6. Drive corrective action where required to display the required change in output in financial results.
  7. Ensure all necessary payments are requested promptly and properly documented.
  8. Provide Dashboards (Xchanging errors/outstanding balances) to Class underwriters monthly and resolve any queries/issues efficiently.
  9. Issue Notices of Cancellation where required (as agreed with Underwriters).
  10. Understand binder administration and build processes to effectively administer the booking and settlement of new binder business.
  11. Meet IPT and EEA regulatory reporting requirements.
  12. Strive for continuous process improvements and automation.
Requirements
  1. Previous experience in a similar role within the London Insurance Market.
  2. Xchanging knowledge.
  3. Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel.
  4. Analytical skills and financial understanding.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  6. Team player.
